Ecuador is a small country located in the northwestern corner of South America. It is bordered by Colombia to the north, Peru to the east and south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Ecuador is a diverse country with a variety of climates, cultures, and landscapes.

Despite the country has advanced towards the construction of a fair and equitable society, there are some persistent gaps in basic services, including poor access to health, education, housing and economic capacity,that affect mostly children and adolescents the country has made significant socio-economic progress, there are still gaps.

ChildFund has served children and adolescents in Ecuador since 1984 in rural communities promoting the establishment of strategic and operative alliances.

The Growing with you program, focuses on the development of children under 6 years of age, where the skills of parents and caregivers are strengthened to guide their development through stimulation and nutrition, using positive parenting practices to prevent violence and accessing health services and initial education.

Safe and Protected Children focuses on the prevention and reduction of multiple forms of violence in children and adolescents from 6 to 14 years old, at school, family, and community levels. In addition, it strengthens skills and capacities in mothers, fathers, primary caregivers, and educational personnel to promote friendly and safe environments; positive, protective, and violence-free relationships, and parenting practices and positive discipline while seeking that children and adolescents have the necessary skills to be resilient and feel self-confident.

Loving and Taking care of myself, strengthens in adolescents and young people, informed and responsible decision-making to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights and seeks to promote gender equity in the different areas in which children and adolescents operate, as well as encourage them to be agents of change and participate in design, monitoring and evaluation of public policies related to sexual reproductive health at the local and national levels.

PACT promotes and develops leadership, citizen participation and economic independence of young people. Its objective is to provide adolescents and young people with the means and skills necessary to lead citizen processes, achieve their autonomy and economic independence and positively influence the family, social, political and economic life of their community environments. In addition, to improve their employment or self-employment opportunities, they are provided with training on leadership, development of their life plan, entrepreneurship and civic participation, promoting associativity in the country.
