Please Help Us Bring Lifesaving Health Care to Senegal
Join us in one of the most important programs ChildFund has ever undertaken.
Like other developing countries, Senegal faces many challenges.
But one of the most crushing issues is a critical lack of health care.
You see, in Senegal, getting health care is especially difficult. Government hospitals are far from most rural villages. The entire country has about 800 doctors, most of them in the capital city of Dakar.
These obstacles mean infants are sick and dying of preventable diseases. Women are dying in childbirth. And so many people suffer from malaria, waterborne ailments and pneumonia — all preventable and curable — but they have no access to health care. Our help is desperately needed.
And now we will be able to offer that help — through one of the most important programs ChildFund has ever undertaken. But we need your support.
ChildFund has been awarded a $40 million grant over five years — the largest in our entire history — by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). With this grant comes one condition: We are required to raise $472,254.61 this year.
That’s where you fit into this unique opportunity to bring health care to entire communities in Senegal: We need your help to raise the required funds. Every dollar you give until we reach $472,254.61 will be matched by $16.94. That means your gift of ...
- $50 will multiply to $897 ($50 x $16.94 = $847 + your $50)
- $75 will multiply to $1,346
- $100 will become $1,794 — a great start to helping us bring lifesaving health care to Senegal’s children and families living in extreme poverty.
With your support, we’ll be able to build on and expand the work we’ve been doing in Senegal since 1985, improving family and community health by targeting areas and practices that have a crucial impact on public health. This amazing grant will help us to reach our goal of establishing 2,151 health huts and 1,717 outreach sites.
In partnership with USAID and other key community development organizations, we’ll also work to develop a national community health policy. By the end of the five-year plan, we will have served more than 9 million Senegalese in 71 districts.
This is a huge undertaking — but to save lives, we must act quickly! Please give generously today and help us raise $472,254.61 for the children and families in Senegal who so desperately need accessible health care. Remember, your gift will be matched by $16.94, so give now and your generosity will multiply!
Many employers offer matching gift programs. Does yours? Your human resources colleagues will be able to answer that question. If your employer does offer a match, your gift will go even further for children and families in Senegal!
