Child Sponsorship Opportunities

Save Jose

Jose from Bolivia is one of the thousands of children waiting for a sponsor. For about a dollar a day, you can give him a chance to escape poverty by providing him with some of life's basic needs — education, health care, and nutritious food.

His name is Jose Luis and he is part of a seven-member family living in a rural village. His parents are the main providers in the family working as small-scale farmers. His mother is also a shepherdess. Both of them have a combined monthly income of US $70.00 approximately, which is not sufficient to cover the basic needs of their children. Part of the crops they grow, are consumed by the family. They are the owners of a three-room house made out of adobe walls, straw on roof and earthen floor where the basic utilities are not available and this makes more precarious their living conditions. They get water from a well and they use a latrine. Jose Luis is a sociable and joyful boy who likes playing with balls and toys cars. His favorite pets are the cow and sheep. Being at home, he does his homework and he runs some light errands. He attends school. His overall health conditions are good but the economical situation menaces his present life conditions and future well-being.
