Omar lives in the Rio Grande Valley of southern Texas with his parents, brother and two sisters. He is the second to the youngest of the children. The family is of Hispanic heritage. The sole provider of the family is the child's father. The mother does the housework and looks after the family while the father works. The income earned is minimal and insufficient to provide for the family's basic needs. Through your support the family will receive educational and nutritional benefits from the program. The parents also receive early childhood development, GED, English and health nutrition classes. After school tutoring is available for the children. Omar is a shy, quiet, child. His favorite school subjects are math and reading. He likes to play soccer, ride his bike and play video games. Omar is in good health.

Child Sponsorship Is So Easy...
When you sponsor a child in the United States, you’ll change a life somewhere in one of the poorest counties in the nation. ChildFund serves children in Mississippi, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma and Texas. Programs are tailored to needs prevalent in each area, such as suicide prevention among Native American children and, in many areas, nutrition programs to fight diabetes.

Choose a boy or girl you want to sponsor.
The cost for sponsoring a U.S. child is higher than for other ChildFund countries due to the high cost of doing business in the U.S.
Your monthly $35 gift will be combined with those of other sponsors whose children are enrolled in the same area, so that all girls and boys will benefit.
Correspond with your child through letters and pictures (only if you want). Receive regular updates and even visit your child if you like!
