Facebook. Blogger. Twitter.
You’ve heard about these Web sites, but do you use them? Did you know that Christian Children’s Fund is an active member of these social networking sites?
In addition to this Web site, CCF has a few other places for you to check out to hear about the work we do for 13.5 million children and family members in 31 countries.
Facebook has more than 150 million members worldwide. These users interact with friends every day by exchanging messages and updating their profiles. Many members are also active in online groups. In order to become a Fan, you have to be a member of Facebook.
Users of Twitter can provide updates to family, friends, co-workers and other “Followers” through text-based posts of 140 characters or less. Entries are better known as “Tweets.”
CCF has two active blogs -- CCF in the Field and CCF in Our Communities. If you’re unfamiliar with a blog, think of it as an online journal.
CCF has used the Field blog for about two years for staff to use to talk about trips to the countries CCF works. Recent entries include highlights from a staff member’s trip to a CCF program area in Brazil. The Communities blog features CCF’s work in general. Posts have linked to press releases, highlight our Gifts of Hope & Love Catalog and even highlighted CCF’s Monument Avenue 10k team taking part in one of the nation’s largest street races.
