The fight against the LTTE in Sri Lanka seems to be finished, but more than 250,000 people have become displaced to camps in the North. CCF is implementing a humanitarian response for displaced children who fled the conflict and now find themselves in these camps.
CCF has been in Sri Lanka since 1985, and during the tsunami had set up a response of Child Centered Spaces for children displaced by the tsunami in some of the worst-impacted areas of the country. CCF is currently assessing the situation of the children newly arrived in the camps in the North, to determine the response needed.
CCF’s Child-Centered Spaces will be critical places to give children safety, help them recover from the situation, and to regain their health and well-being.
