Finalists Announced for ChildFund’s Facebook Promotion
Five finalists vie for opportunity to travel across the globe to visit their sponsored child
Richmond, Va. – July 20, 2011 – ChildFund International, a global one-to-one child sponsorship program, has randomly selected five qualified finalists from across the nation for its first-ever “Experience of a Lifetime” Facebook promotion. The winner will receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet his or her sponsored child face-to-face in their own country.
Matt Foley of Merrimac, Md., Cheryl Honey of Brandon West, Mo., Clarissa Maxwell of Alexandria, Va., Janet Brown of Monrovia, Md., and David Levis, of Citrus Heights, Calif. have been selected, but need the public’s help to win the trip.
Each finalist has written an essay explaining why he or she should be chosen to visit their sponsored child. Followers of ChildFund’s Facebook page will be able to vote on the essays to support that person’s quest for “The Experience of a Lifetime.” Multiple votes are allowed, but only one vote per day. Voting begins on July 20 and runs through July 31.
“Take a second to imagine having the chance to visit a child you have a relationship with, but have never met,” said Anne Lynam Goddard, ChildFund president and CEO. “To meet and see firsthand the impact made in a child’s life will move an individual more than they could ever imagine.”
Those interested in the promotion can read each finalist’s essay by going to:
- Selecting the “Experience of a Lifetime” tab (http://apps.facebook.com/experienceoflife)
- Reviewing the essays and voting
