ChildFund International's Gifts of Love & Hope Catalog Helps Last-Minute Shoppers, Vulnerable Children

Richmond, VA – Dec. 18, 2012– This holiday season, when shopping for the people who have everything, think of the people who have nothing. ChildFund International's Gifts of Love & Hope catalog has meaningful gifts that make a lasting impact on the world's children that are an easy option for last-minute shoppers.

Gifts of Love & Hope provides a simple way for people to give items that support families living in poverty around the world, in the name of a recipient. The catalog contains more than 100 items, ranging in price from $8 to $42,000 that have been specifically requested for families and children by ChildFund staff on the ground in program countries. Gifts are delivered directly to recipients in just the way they are described and are tax deductible for the purchaser.

"Gifts of Love & Hope spreads joy in more ways than one," said Anne Lynam Goddard, CEO and president at ChildFund International. "Gifting from the catalog in someone's name is the perfect idea for the person who has everything. The items in the catalog fill critical needs of vulnerable children across the world, helping to ensure them a better, brighter future."

A variety of price points are available, including 15 items under $25. For $11, people can protect children from malaria by donating a mosquito net. A gift of $15 gives a child in Ethiopia a tree seedling and a watering can that provides nutritious apples for years to come.

The catalog addresses a variety of issues facing people in developing countries, from education to sanitation. Girls in India and Sri Lanka can bike to school, instead of walking long distances, with bicycles that cost $100. Five schools in Africa can be outfitted with latrines that help reduce water borne diseases and promote hygiene for $934.

Last-minute shoppers can print or email personalized cards from the ChildFund website highlighting their gift for recipients. Gifts can be purchased in five minutes or less.

No matter the price, all items make a big difference in a child’s life. For more gift ideas, go to http://www.childfund.org/gifts.
