When ChildFund International first began in 1938, our philosophy was simple: connect one person who wants to help, with one child who needs it.
The magnitude of the world’s problems – poverty, war, natural disasters and other dangers faced by millions of children – are too great for one single person to combat. Yet our 70-year-old philosophy, “one sponsor, one child,” has allowed millions of people to collectively improve the lives of children.

It's easy to become a ChildFund
International sponsor:
1. Choose a boy or girl
you want to sponsor.
2. ChildFund will use your
sponsorship contribution
of $28 per month to provide
your sponsored child with
what he or she needs to grow
healthy and thrive: education,
nourishing meals, clean
water, medical care and
opportunities to play,
develop and learn.
3. Your monthly gifts will be
combined with those of other
sponsors whose children
are enrolled in the same area,
so that all girls and boys
will benefit.
4. Correspond with your
child through letters and pictures.
You are not required to write,
but hearing from sponsors is
very meaningful to your
sponsored children. It boosts
their self-esteem and so much
more.
5. Regular updates about your
sponsored child will be sent to
you. This allows you to monitor
his or her progress.
6. Visits are welcome! If you can
make the trip, ChildFund staff
will arrange a visit for you and
your sponsored child.

Make a Connection through Child Sponsorship
Sponsor a child with ChildFund, and you will build a personal, one-to-one relationship with your sponsored child.
Through letters, pictures and occasional gifts, you will come to know about your sponsored child’s family, community, daily routine and his or her hopes for the future. These connections give children hope, make them feel nurtured and provide the confidence they might otherwise lack.
ChildFund even gives sponsors the ability to visit their child, so they may see firsthand, the difference child sponsorship makes.

When you sponsor a child, ChildFund will use your monthly sponsorship donations, combined with donations from sponsors of other children in your child’s community, to support community-wide programs.
Together, we can help plant the seeds of self-sufficiency.
We build schools, teach vocational skills, provide health care and establish renewable sources of food and safe water. We provide emergency assistance to children who are victims of war and natural disaster.
We raise awareness of health hazards and child protection issues. We even create jobs and business opportunities to enable parents to better support their families.
