ChildFund International Names Erin Kennedy as Vice President

Ms. Kennedy will head the global nonprofit’s newly established External Engagement and Partnership division

Richmond, Virginia | October 5, 2022: ChildFund International’s executive team is pleased to announce the establishment of a new External Engagement and Partnership team charged with leading the organization in influencing the child development ecosystem. President and CEO Isam Ghanim has tapped Erin Kennedy as Vice President of the division. Kennedy previously served as ChildFund's Senior Director for External Affairs and brings two decades’ experience in policy advocacy, networking, partnerships and business development.

This new team will cover U.S. government legislative affairs, global policy and advocacy, engagement with select alliances and movements, foundation relations and strategic partnership development. The team also has an important convening role to ensure coherent, focused and synergistic approaches to advance ChildFund’s interests and relationships with international development centers, including those from under-resourced countries.

“We are on an exciting journey at ChildFund, with new strategic directions to reach more children than ever, and I am delighted to have Erin take on this new opportunity,” says Ghanim. “I am excited to see how she will apply her abundant expertise, vision and dedication to help move ChildFund toward our ambitious goal of greatly scaling our impact for children."

Erin Kennedy is a leading policy, children’s rights and gender expert with nearly 20 years of experience in the field. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Duquesne University and a master’s in public administration from American University. Prior to joining ChildFund, she was the Sr. Advisor for Gender and Empowerment at CARE, USA, where she led advocacy strategy and spearheaded efforts in new business, including a landmark $8 million grant on ending child marriage in Nepal and Bangladesh.
