The Power to Play Toy Exhibit in Rhode Island Extended Through February

Step into the lobby of the Providence Children’s Museum in Rhode Island and you’ll encounter ChildFund’s traveling exhibit, The Power to Play: From Trash to Treasure. Originally slated to run from Oct. 4, 2011, through Jan. 29, 2012, the exhibit will continue in the Children’s Museum for another month, through Feb. 26.

If the cold weather has your small ones stuck inside and at loose ends, why not take them to see how children from developing countries create playthings from the little they have on hand: a doll from leaves, a guitar from cardboard, a ball from discarded plastic bags.

When you get them home, they’ll surely look at their environment with new eyes. Expect inspiration.
