Scarlet- is a brilliant young girl who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana County. She lives with her father who is a single parent. She has one brother and two sisters. The family lives in a palm thatched mud house in a communal land. They fetch water from a community hand pump whose water is saline. Her father is a casual labourer in the community. However, the annual income derived from this economic activity is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to meet the family basic needs. For this reason, her father resolved to approach the office to seek for further assistance. Scarlet is enrolled in a nearby school where performs well in numbers and sounds. Scarlet favourite game is playing hide and seek and home-made dolls. While at home, she helps the family in fetching water from the community bore hole.  Her health is good.
