Ekeno is a cheerful, young boy from Turkana County in Northern Kenya. He lives with both parents’ three sisters and two brothers. They live in a palm thatched house in their communal land. The family draws water from a borehole and water is not safe for human consumption for the water is salty and this predisposes the child to waterborne disease. The parents are pastoralists and they keep indigenous sheep and goats for meat and milk production. To supplement their livelihood, the mother collects and sells firewood and the father weaves mats, brooms and trays but the income they get is less than US $ 360 annually and the income is not enough to cater for the family basic needs. As a result, the father came to the office looking for assistance. Ekeno attends a nearby school in the community and his favorite subject is mathematics. His favorite game is playing football. He helps at home in sweeping their compound. He aspies to be an engineer when he grows up. Your support will bring a lasting change in his life.
