Oumy is a cooperative and inquisitive little girl. She counts many friends among her peers. She is attending primary school. Reading is her favorite activities she does. She enjoys the company of her peers and neighbors. She also loves to be involved in the domestic chores. Oumou, her parents, and the family extended members accommodate in three concrete rooms in a big house. They have access to electricity supply, but they fetch water from the village public well. Oumy’s father relies on seasonal farming. As couscous is the staple dish in the area, they mainly grow millet and beans for food, and some groundnut for sale. Due to unpredictable weather conditions, and poor methods of cultivation, his earnings do not exceed more than US $1200 in a year, whereas the mother keeps the house. Her dire wish for her beloved daughter is to have a caring sponsor, who will help her get good education, and she would be forever grateful for.
