Help Children After Venezuela Earthquakes
Powerful earthquakes have devastated children and families in Venezuela. You can help.
Two catastrophic earthquakes — 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude, just seconds apart — have struck Venezuela’s northern coast, devastating the country’s already precarious infrastructure. Dozens of buildings have collapsed in the capital, Caracas, and at least 164 people have died, with hundreds more injured. Those numbers are expected to rise quickly, especially as many people were at home due to a national holiday. Including children.
Amid the chaos, children are at the greatest risk of all. Many have lost their homes, schools and safe spaces, even their families. While search and rescue efforts are the immediate priority, ChildFund is responding with a hyper-focus on children’s unique needs — especially for safety.
Children in Venezuela can’t wait. They need support, comfort and safety more than ever. Give now to our Emergency Action Fund to support critical relief efforts for children facing emergencies.
