Ashlynn_ChoateChildFund International has been around for more than 70 years but people are still surprised to learn about some of the basic facts of our organization. So, here’s the real deal on ChildFund International.

Myth: ChildFund International only helps children overseas.
Fact: ChildFund International helps children in 30 countries, including the United States. Our programs in the U.S. reach some of the poorest counties in Mississippi, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma and Texas.

Myth: ChildFund International is mission-based.
Fact: Although we were founded by a Presbyterian minister in 1938, we have not made evangelizing a part of work for more than 30 years. Our work is focused on changing the lives of deprived, excluded and vulnerable children. We believe that the well-being of all children leads to the well-being of the world. We empower children to thrive throughout all stages of life and to become leaders of enduring change.

Myth: ChildFund helps only Christians.
Fact: ChildFund International helps more than 18.1 million children and their family members without regard to race, religion or ethnic group.  We serve children of all faiths, and welcome people of all faiths as employees, donors, partners and leaders of our organization.
