Brazilian Northeast Rains
Many families remain homeless in Northeastern Brazil as strong rains continue to devastate the region. In some regions, the level of water has lowered but families are still unable to return to their homes and remain in schools or community centers.
CCF Brazil is working with families to provide support at this difficult time, not only through their presence, but with donations of basic food baskets, food supplements, medication and referral of serious health cases. The children miss playing and some of the toys and possessions they had to leave behind. Crops and animals also were lost.
While the local governments are doing what they can, including providing shelter in houses and some public spaces, CCF Brazil is providing referral for serious cases and is approaching private companies to donate to some of these families.
