Women and children in Guatemala, the country hardest hit by Hurricane Stan, wash clothing in standing pools of flood water. Hurricane Stan, which made landfall on October 5, brought torrential rain, causing flooding and mudslides throughout Central America and southern Mexico.

Christian Children's Fund-assisted areas in Guatemala were severely impacted. CCF established contact with all 26 affected program communities in Guatemala.
Thousands of children and their families were affected by the storm, including a total of 4,252 CCF-affiliated children.
