Mariatou and family lives in a small rural settlement of the country The Gambia West Africa. The Village is about the population of about 370 inhabitants. She spend most of her time with her mum, Her favorite food is milk and rice with fish which is common diet in her community. Her Dad is a substance farmers who cultivate crops seasonally and depend on seasonal rains to make their living. Farming and  fetching are the sources of income for most of the people living their village. Her parents are low income earners whose annual income do not meet the basic needs of the family. Her father cultivates peanuts, coos, and cassava whilst her mother does vegetable gardening at their backyard. She need Childfund assistance in order to realize her dreams in the future.
