Sponsor A Child

Miriam as she is commonly called is the youngest child in the family of 6 members living under the care of her parents. Miriam and family live in a house made of grass thatched roof, mud walls and packed dirt floor that requires annual replacement which is expensive for them. Her parents practice subsistence farming where they grow food crops like cassava, beans, and maize for both home consumption and sale. However, in a month they earn less than 25 US dollars which is not enough to provide for their family. The community where they live has challenges of access to clean and safe drinking water, the nearest borehole is found in another village which takes about 5 kilometers to reach, with the demanding work they have for the garden, they resort to fetching water from an unprotected spring well which is not safe for drinking and use at home and exposes them to waterborne diseases such as dysentery and skin rushes. When Mary gets sponsored, their community will have access to clean and safe water.
