Yasmin was born in Addis Ababa. She lives with her parents in one of the slummy area. Her father is a guard and her mother is a casual worker. Yasmin is in primary school and likes English. Amharic and Selti are the mediums of communication within the family. The family is currently living an old house made of iron sheets and wood. Despite the availability of health center in the neighborhood, it lacks necessary laboratory equipment and the government schools do not have enough teaching materials. Yasmins family wants to change their lives through material supports and empowering training. Coming from a low income family whose annual income is less than US$ 400, Yasmin has been enrolled in ChildFund to get help. Moreover, her family needs program support on different income generating activities and life skill training on how to raise children.
