Mulunesh lives with her mother and grandmother in a neighborhood with poor hygiene and sanitation. She is in school, and her favorite subject is English language. Her father has abandoned her. Her mother is a daily laborer, and her grandmother is a housewife, but their annual income, which is less than 300 USD, is not enough to afford even their most basic needs. They plan to improve their lives by being improving their petty trade if they get some support. The family lives in a poorly built small house, and the nearby school and health center lack basic equipment and trained professionals. Access to transportation facilities is low, and people have to walk long distances to get water from a polluted river. In order to overcome the poverty, she is facing, she needs to be enrolled in the project.
