Juliana is a social but shy girl staying with her parents in one of the remotest villages in Eastern Uganda. Her homestead is at the extreme village boundaries nearing swamps and as such there is high prevalence of malaria coupled with long distance to access social services. The entire family and domestic items are compacted in a single mud house thatched with grass and without ventilators. During heavy downfalls, the family sleeps in fear of falling wall fragments characterized by coldness and leaking roof. Her family thrives on monthly average income of US 25dollars derived from farming and selling out labor in rice schemes. However due to lack of mosquito nets, much of this income is spent on medical care and buying daily kerosene for lighting. Juliana dreams of becoming a nurse in future to be able to support her family and the community but as such her future is unpredictable if not supported. Your support will open opportunities to access descent education, health and lifesaving services for Juliana to claim.
