Selestino is a brilliant and inquisitive young boy from North Eastern Uganda, living with his father and sibling. He attends a local community school, where he especially excels in Mathematics and Social Studies, subjects he loves and shows great promise in. His family relies on farming for their livelihood, growing maize, beans, millet, and cassava each planting season. However, unpredictable weather patterns and poor yields often leave them struggling, with barely enough food to manage two meals a day. Their home, built with mud walls, wattle, and a grass-thatched roof, requires frequent repairs. But the scarcity of thatching grass means that leaks during rainy seasons are common, further adding to their daily hardships. Despite these challenges, Selestino remains hopeful and focused on his education. With the right support, he can break the cycle of poverty and achieve his dreams, not just for himself, but for his family and community.
