We are pleased to introduce Pius, a kind and hardworking boy who lives with his parents and siblings in a traditional community in North Eastern Uganda. His community has limited access to social services, making daily life challenging. Pius loves playing soccer and finds joy in spending time with his friends. At home, he is responsible for fetching water for the family. Every day, he walks about four kilometers to a distant borehole because they do not have access to clean water nearby. His parents work tirelessly, and their main source of income is small-scale farming. However, with limited land, they are unable to engage in commercial farming, making it difficult to meet all the family’s needs. Pius is currently in school, but he struggles to remain there due to a lack of essential school resources. Despite these challenges, he holds onto a hopeful dream: to become a doctor one day so he can help solve the health-related problems affecting people in his community.
