Muditha is a friendly young girl living with her parents in the Nuwara Eliya district of Sri Lanka, a cool and hilly region known for its tea plantations and mist-covered landscapes. She enjoys spending time playing with her friends and also helps her mother with daily chores like cleaning the house and collecting firewood. Muditha attends a junior secondary school located 1 km from her home, and she walks to school every day. Both of her parents work her father as a full-time wage earner and her mother as an estate worker but even with their combined efforts, the annual income of $2,200 is barely enough to cover their living expenses. The family struggles to provide nutritious meals and afford the growing cost of education. They live in a simple house made of cement walls and floors, with a tin sheet roof. The house has a toilet, electricity, and their own well for water, but financial burdens remain heavy. A caring sponsor could make a real difference helping Muditha receive proper meals, continue her education, and giving her family a chance at a better future.
