Menushi Shenaya lives in the tranquil Trincomalee area, Sri Lanka, where the coastline meets lush greenery and life flows at a slower pace. She shares her home with her parents and a brother. Menushi helps her mother with daily household tasks, such as fetching water from a neighbor’s well and cleaning the house. Her favorite pastime is reading books, which allows her to escape into different worlds and expand her imagination. Menushi attends primary school, which is 3 kilometers away from her home. She travels there with her friends by bus each day. Despite her love for learning, her family faces significant financial struggles. With an annual income of just $330, her parents find it hard to provide nutritious meals or cover the costs of their children’s education. The family lives in an incomplete house with brick walls, a concrete floor, and an asbestos sheet roof. Menushi’s family is in dire need of a sponsor to improve their situation. Sponsorship will help provide funds for education, better nutrition, and necessary resources, paving the way for a brighter future for Menushi and her brother.
