Siaffa lives with his parents and three siblings in a small village in eastern Sierra Leone. He is currently attending primary school and spends most of his time with his mother. As an active boy, he benefited from the treated bed net distributed by the program for children in his community. He enjoys playing soccer with his friends and is in good health. He is happy with his family at the moment. They live in a four-bedroom mud house with an old zinc roof. Siaffa sleeps on a local bed with a savannah grass-stuffed mattress alongside his family. His parents are engaged in small-scale farming, mainly growing rice, cassava, and other foodstuffs. After harvest, part of the produce is sold in nearby villages to meet other family needs such as healthcare, education, and clothing, while some is reserved for home consumption. The familys annual income is about US$240, which is insufficient to meet all their basic needs. They pray for sponsorship support to help change their living conditions and hold onto hope for a better future for Siaffa.
