Life is sometimes hard for Musa and his parents in the locality where they live. Like other families in their village, his parents do not produce enough to meet the needs of the entire family. They live in a four-room house shared with extended family members. Little Musa shares a bed with his male siblings. Although his parents are small-scale farmers, his father also does carpentry work as an additional means of supporting the family. Musa has two sisters and two brothers, and he is currently the youngest child in the family. With an annual income of only $250 from their small-scale farming, the family can afford just two meals a day and a few clothes once a year. Despite these challenges, Musa enjoys playing soccer with his peers. He is good-looking, wears clean clothes, and is attending primary school. He is apparently healthy and certainly on the path to becoming a leader in his community with the support of a caring sponsor.
