Mohamed is a brave boy who enjoys chasing grasshoppers to play with and imitating his neighbors while they plough. He lives in eastern Sierra Leone with his parents and siblings. He attends formal education, and his aspiration is to become a medical doctor in the future. The family lives in a house made of mud bricks and roofed with zinc, which requires regular repairs. These huts are often destroyed by strong winds during the dry season and damaged by waterlogging during the rainy season. The family practices subsistence farming for a living, but their yields are affected by pests and weather conditions, resulting in low productivity. This makes it difficult to provide enough food or generate sufficient income to meet the familys basic needs. Their average yearly income is less than $230. The family fetches water from a nearby well, which is shared by over 350 households in the community. With your sponsorship, Mohamed will receive support to access clean water and quality education to help him realize his dream.
