Anisio is a young man who lives with his parents in a rural community in the southeastern part of Mozambique. The weather in this area is tropical, humid, and warm. The family has their own home. It is made of materials from the local area. It is not connected to the electricity grid and relies on a basic kerosene lamp for illumination. Access to water is obtained through a well. It is clear that his parents face significant difficulties. They farm to survive and do not have enough money to make a living. They have to rely on what they can grow. For Anisio, not having even the most important things he needs each day, like healthy food, is a really hard challenge. Anisio is in elementary school, but his situation has had a bad effect on his education and future opportunities. He has said that he wants to be a teacher when he grows up. He plays soccer in his free time and helps with household chores. The sponsorship program will help Anisio access community resources, giving him more chances to improve and develop.
