Belinha is a smart girl who lives with her father and brother in a community located in the southeastern part of Mozambique. They live in a self-built house with reed walls, a thatched roof and dirt floor. At night, they use candles because they do not have electricity in the house. They do not have running water either. They get the water from a well which is located 4 km away. Their health center is located 17 km away. Belinha sleeps on a mat and they have very few blankets for the family. She attends elementary education and her favorite subject is History. In future, she intends to be a teacher. On her spare time, she often washes the dishes. Belinha and her family are having bad moments because the cost of life keeps rising. Food is expensive now. The only thing they do for living is to grow crops. The crops provide them with very little food. Belinha participates in the program where she will receive support in the areas of health, education, nutrition and recreation.
