Badal hails from an abjectly deprived family. His father is a casual worker, and his mother is a domestic labourer. Their annual income is approximately US dollars 750 per annum, which is not sufficient to give a quality education and health care services. The mother tries to make the most of what is at hand, but there is abounding privation at home with no way out of their miserable plight. Keen on giving this child the chance of a better future through education, the desperate parents finally sought aid from this project. Badal is attending primary school. Her favourite subject is Odiya, the regional language. He enjoys playing with toys. His health is normal. Badal has one sister and one brother.
