Saffiatou lives with her parents, two brothers and one sister in the western part of the country. Her mother is a fish monger and sometimes does petty trading at the village local market. Her father is a subsistence farmer and depends on the little income he earns to take care of the family. The individual family members earns less than U.S.$1.25 a day which cannot cater for the family’s basic needs much more Saffiatou education. She attends the village primary basic school and she is very interested in learning but lacks most of her educational needs. External support is needed because her parents cannot provide her with the learning materials and other basic needs in order to carry her education. Her health is relatively stable.
