Sponsor A Child

Gizela is a young girl living with her mother and one sibling in the southeastern part of Mozambique. Her family circumstances are ones of dire poverty and need. Gizelas father past away so she is under sole responsibility of the mother, who depends on the farming activity. She can barely feed her children properly, just being able to provide her with two meals per day; she works hard in her plot where she grows corn, peanuts, and cassava. Their home is comprised of two small self-built round huts made of local material. They do have electricity neither and running water; it is obtained from a manual water pump 2 Km away. The toilet is an open air cesspool. Gizela is a healthy child who enjoys playing with other children. She is still under age for school. The mother wants Gizela to have a better care and attention. Through this sponsorship program, she will benefit from health, education, nutrition and recreation, wishing her a bright future.
