Lauany is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Francisco and Maria, and with one sister and one brother, in a slum area on the outskirts of a city located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Francisco struggles to earn a living as a servant on constructions when available, but his very low income is far from enough to meet even the most basic needs of his family. Lauany is playful, intelligent, affectionate and friendly. She helps her mom by washing the dishes. She likes jumping rope along with her friends. She has a dog she is passionately fond of. Lauany attends a local public primary school and her favorite subject is Portuguese. Her wish is to be a schoolteacher when she grows up. The family is needy and through your support Lauany and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
