Born in Addis Ababa, Rehawa lives with her mother in a neighborhood with poor hygiene and sanitation. Her father has deserted them. Rehawa and her mother speak the local Amharic language. Her mother makes a living from working as a causal worker from what she earns from working as a casual worker. Her annual income is not enough to afford even their most basic needs. The mother plans to change their lives by getting engaged in income generating activities. This can be achieved if they get some support and encouragement. Rehawa and her mother live in a small poorly built house, and the nearby school and health center lack basic and standard equipment. Rehawa is a primary school student . In order to overcome the poverty she is facing, she needs support.
