Maria Olivia is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Francisco and Maria Waltenira, and with one brother, on the outskirts of a small town located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Francisco works as a day laborer in agriculture when available and his low income is far from enough to meet basic needs. Maria Olivia is playful, communicative, curious and friendly. She helps with some small household chores. She loves playing house and with dolls in the company of other girls her age. She has a cat she is fond of. Maria Olivia attends a public elementary school and loves Art. Her wish is to be a schoolteacher when she grows up. The family is needy and through your support Maria Olivia and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
