Neymar Mathias, or Ney as he likes to be called, is a cheerful, friendly, and intelligent boy. He is in elementary school and his favorite subject is physical education. He loves playing soccer, riding his bike, hide and seek, and hopscotch. Ney dreams of becoming a soldier when he grows up. After school, he helps at home by making beds, collecting grass for the animals, fetching water, and gathering firewood. He lives with his parents and sister in their own home made of cement block walls and a cement floor. It has basic services such as piped water, electricity, and an indoor bathroom. His father is a craftsman and his mother works as a day laborer. Despite their efforts, their income is often not enough to meet all their needs. Ney�s family has high hopes for the future.
