Melquisedeque is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, Luis and Francineide, in a slum area on the outskirts of a city located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is rented, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Luis works as a general helper in the stock department of a local firm and his earnings are far from enough to meet even the most basic needs of his family. Melquisedeque is lively, studious and affectionate. He helps his mom by making the beds and filling the bottles with water. His favorite pastimes include playing tag and hide-and-seek. He has a cat he is fond of. Melquisedeque attends a local public primary school and likes physical education. His wish is to be a police officer when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Melquisedeque and his family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
