Maria Vitoria is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Antonio and Tatiane, and with two brothers, in a slum area on the outskirts of a city located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is rented, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Antonio is unemployed at this time and takes some odd jobs when available; his low income, however, is far from enough to meet basic needs. Maria Vitoria is affectionate, playful and cheerful. She helps her mom by putting her toys away. She loves playing house and with dolls in the company of other girls her age. She has a cat she is fond of. Maria Vitoria attends a public elementary school and loves Art. Her wish is to be a schoolteacher when she grows up. The family is needy and through your support Maria Vitoria and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
