Valentina is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Jose and Veridiana, and with one brother, in a slum area on the outskirts of a city located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Jose works as a bill collector for a local firm and his earnings are far from enough to meet even the most basic needs of his family. Valentina is affectionate, playful, cheerful and helpful. She helps her mom mostly by sweeping the floor and washing the dishes. Her favorite pastimes include playing tag and hide-and-seek. She has a dog she is passionately fond of. Valentina attends a local public primary school and her favorite subject is History. Her wish is to be a makeup artist when she grows up. The family is needy and through your support Valentina and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
