Emelyn lives with her parents and siblings in a rural community located in the southern part of Honduras. Her mother does the houseworkand takes care of the family while her father works very hard on the farm fields. They live in a double-room house built with adobe walls, a tile roof, and a dirt floor; it has safe running water and electricity. During the day Emelyn attends the local primary school, where science is her favorite subject. Fortunately, Emelyn has no mental or physical disabilities and stays healthy most of the time. Emelyn is a very curious, kind, and nice child who enjoys coloring and singing; for fun, she likes to play with dolls.
