Fidel is a jovial boy who comes from the Northern part of Kenya, Turkana County. He lives with his mother and one brother. They live in a grass thatched house supported with sticks in a communal land and they fetch water from the community hand pump. His mother depends on making brooms and selling. However, the annual income derived from this broom making is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to support the family needs. Fidel goes to a nearby school in the village and he performs better in mathematics and drawing. In addition, he loves playing rope skipping with his friends during free time. Fidel aspires to be a teacher in future. His mother decided to approach the office to seek for assistance which will change not only his life but also that of his family members.
