Johnathan is a happy and active boy who likes playing football with his peers during his free time. His family lives in one of the remotest villages in northern Uganda with very poor access roads that always cut them off from the good social services thus leaving them as an isolated community. He stays with both parents and five siblings in a small grass thatched hut that is poorly ventilated exposing them to respiratory infections. His family practices small scale farming where they grow crops like maize, cassava millet sorghum and simsim for home consumption but sometimes some are sold for purchase of family basic needs as they do not have any other source of income to attend to their needs. Johnathan is such a thoughtful young boy who likes helping his family members with chores such as washing utensils, fetching water and sweeping the compound.
