Hasitha attends the local primary school, which is 2 km away. He rides his bicycle to school with his father, who works as a seasonal farmer. Despite his father’s hard work, the family’s annual income is only $600, which makes it difficult to provide sufficient food for the children and cover educational expenses. Their home is simple, with brick walls, a clay floor, and an asbestos sheet roof. While they have access to tap water, electricity, and a toilet, their financial struggles make it hard to meet daily needs.
