Chamoth is a hardworking boy living in the peaceful and rural Puttalam district of Sri Lanka. He lives with his parents and seven siblings in a simple home of their own. Every day, Chamoth helps his mother by cleaning the house and doing his part to ease her burden. In his free time, he enjoys riding his bicycle, which gives him a sense of freedom. Chamoth attends a junior secondary school 2 km away, and he rides his bicycle to school along with his brothers. Despite his father working as a seasonal farmer, the family’s annual income is only $480, making it challenging to provide healthy meals for the children and cover their educational expenses. Their home is modest, with brick walls, a cement floor, and an asbestos sheet roof. Although they have tap water, electricity, and a toilet, the financial strain affects their daily lives. A sponsor could make a significant difference in their situation by providing crucial support for food and education, helping Chamoth and his siblings create a better future.
