They practice traditional agriculture as their main source of income. They live in huts made of mud and eat two meals a day during all seasons. With only $400 USD of income the father generates each year, they struggle to improve their living conditions. Thierno Oumar is a cheerful little boy not yet in school. He sleeps with his parents in a local bed under an old mosquito net and enjoys playing with his age friends.
