Durga comes from a needy household and lives with his parents in a remote tribal area in Jharkhand. They share a mud hut that lacks basic facilities. His father works long and exhausting hours as a farmer, but his annual salary of approximately USD 240 is insufficient to support the family and pay for education, household expenses, and other necessities. The mother is a resourceful housewife who tries to do whatever is at hand, but there is hardly any improvement in their living conditions. Finally, the parents appealed to this project for assistance for a better future for this child. Durga is attending a government primary school. His favourite subject is Hindi, the national language.
