Ukasha is very camera shy and fears looking directly into the camera. He hails from central Uganda from a family of five members including his parents and two brothers. He is the middle child of his parents, and his hobbies are riding bicycles and playing football. Ukasha and his family rent a two-room house where they live. However, since it is the rainy season, their house gets immersed in swamp water due to too much rain and this makes it very dangerous for children of his to navigate to reach their homes. The economic status of his parents is not that good. His father is the sole provider of the family, and he is a commuter motorcycle rider. His mother is a stay-at-home mother who takes care of Ukasha and his two brothers. His father earns an income of US 28 dollars which is too inadequate to support the family needs. They rent a house at US 10 dollars and a kilogramme of maize flour which is the cheapest food goes for US 1 dollar. This makes it hard to look after the children let alone educate them.
